Waterproofing checks to do before the rainy season

Start on the roof

Look for lifted or cracked membrane, blistering, open seams at flashings and standing water that never drains. On tiled roofs check for slipped tiles, cracked ridging and failed valley seals.

Check gutters and outlets

Blocked gutters and downpipes push water back under roof edges. Clear leaves and grit, confirm falls run towards the outlet and repair rusted or split sections before they overflow.

Walls and openings

Hairline cracks in plaster, failed sealant around window and door frames and damaged parapet copings all let water into the wall structure. These are cheap to seal now and expensive to repair once the plaster is wet.

Know when to call us

Damp patches on internal ceilings, bubbling paint, a musty smell or mould in one corner mean water is already inside. Contact us for an inspection so the source is traced before the coating is applied.
